Bay Shore Neighborhood Library was established in September 1929 at 194 Corona Avenue. The library branch later moved to its current site as part of the Selover Building. The current 6,900-square-foot building opened in April 1959. Noted artist, Taro Yashima, was commissioned to create 5 paintings for the children's section. The Bay Shore Neighborhood Library is named after Alamitos Bay, which the building overlooks and Belmont Shore, the community it serves.
